Give your 100% .. A small Story

Give your 100% .. A small Story
A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed.

The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised.

That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble
Moral of the story:If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, you'll always keep doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent.. This is applicable for any relationship like love, employer-employee relationship etc., Give your hundred percent to everything you do and sleep peacefully

It’s truly an opportunity to improve one's condition

It’s truly an opportunity to improve one's condition

A king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many others never understand. Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one's condition

Kindness of Guru Govind Singh

Kindness of Guru Govind Singh
Once Shri Guru Govind singh was going somewhere with his troop. Suddenly a stone came quickly from nowhere and hit his head.
A little line of blood appeared on the temple of Sri Govind Singh. His soldiers immediately went around finding the culprit. Very soon they came back with a destitute, lean and thin lady. The lady was trembling with fear.
When she was brought in front of Shri Govind Singh, she said," O my lord, please forgive me for this grave offence. My bad luck is following me everywhere.
My three kids were dying of hunger as we didn't get anything to eat for past three days. To save the life of my children, I thought of picking some fruits form the nearby garden.
As I threw stone to get the fruit from the tree, the stone instead of hitting the fruit, came and hit your temple."
Hearing her plight the heart of Sri Guru Govind Singh melted with compassion and he ordered his men to give 1000 coins and nice food items to the lady.
Everyone was astonished, including the poor lady. Then one of the confidants asked Guru Govind singh for the reason of this prize.
Sri Guru Govind Singh answered," Even a dumb, immovable tree gives fruits on throwing stones. Why should I not help the needy for I am far better and well off than that tree?"
"What is impossible yesterday is the hope of today and reality of tomorrow"

words of the Wise

4 - Words of the wise

It was a king's court, the ministers, pundits and artists were all seated in their respective places. The king and his ministers had earned quite a name and fame for their wit and wisdom.

One day a sage entered the court. He was given a warm welcome with all honours due to him. The king asked him: "Oh revered one! May I know what brings you here? We are very happy on account of your presence here today."

The sage replied: "Oh King, your court is reputed for its wit and wisdom. I have brought three beautiful dolls and I would like to have an assessment and evaluation of these dolls done by your ministers." He presented to the king the three dolls. The king called his senior most ministers and gave him the dolls for examination and evaluation..

The minister just looked once at the dolls and commanded a royal messenger to fetch him a thin steel-wire. The minister inserted the wire into the right ear of one of the dolls. The wire came out of the left ear. He kept it aside.

He took up another doll and once again passed the wire into its right ear. It came out of the mouth of the doll. He kept that doll in one place. He took up the third doll and inserted the wire, it neither came out of the other ear nor from the mouth.

The king and the courtiers were eagerly watching the scene. The minister paying his tributes to the sage said: "Oh revered one." Of the three dolls, the third one is the best.

The three dolls actually are symbolic of three types of listening. There are three types of listeners, in the world. The first type listens to every word, only to pass it out from the other ear. The second type listen well, remember it well only to speak out all that they have heard. The third type listen, retain everything they have heard and treasure it up in their hearts. They are the best type of listeners."
