Ubuntu: A very nice story

Ubuntu: A very nice story…!

An Anthropologist proposed one game to the kids of African tribal children.  He placed a basket of fruits near a tree.

And made them stand 100 metres away.  And announced that who ever reaches first would get all the fruits in the basket.  When he said ready steady g
o…

Do you know what these small children did?

They all caught each other’s hands and ran towards the tree together, divided the fruits among them and ate the fruits and enjoyed it.

When the Anthropologist asked them why you did so?

          They said ‘Ubuntu’

Which meant:

‘How can one be happy when all the others are sad?’

Ubuntu in their language means:

         ‘I am because, we are!’

Let’s all of us always carry this attitude within us and spread happiness, wherever we go…!

Lesson from Kite

Lesson from Kite

Father is flying a Kite. His Son is Watching him Carefully. After sometime son says " Dad Because of the String the kit is not able to go any further higher"

Hearing this the father Smiles and breaks the string. The kite goes higher after breaking of the thread and shortly after that it comes and falls on the ground. The child was dejected and Sad.

The Father sits next to him and calmly explains:

"Son, in life we reach a certain lever of prosperity and then we feel that there are certain things in our life that are not letting us grow any further like Home, Family, Culture, Friendship etc.,We feel we want to be free from these strings which we believe are stopping us from going higher.

But remember Son, "Going higher is easer than remaining higher. Friends , Family, Culture etc. things that will help us stay stable at the heights we have achieved. If we try to breack way from those strings our condition will be similar to the kite"

Moral: Never go away from Culture, Family, Friends and relationships as they help keep you stable while you are flying  high.

It is not what happens to you, but it is how you perceive what happens to you determines quality of your life.

OBSERVE SILENCE

OBSERVE SILENCE

A Superb Thought- - Silence

There once was a farmer who discovered that he had lost his watch in the barn. It was no ordinary watch because it had sentimental value for him. After searching high and low among the hay for a long while; he gave up and enlisted the help of a group of children playing outside the barn. He promised them that the person who found it would be rewarded.
Hearing this, the children hurried inside the barn, went through and around the entire stack of hay but still could not find the watch.
Just when the farmer was about to give up looking for his watch, a little boy went up to him and asked to be given another chance. The farmer looked at him and thought, "Why not? After all, this kid looks sincere enough. So the farmer sent the little boy back in the barn.
After a while the little boy came out with the watch in his hand! The farmer was both happy and surprised and so he asked the boy how he succeeded where the rest had failed.
The boy replied, "I did nothing but sit on the ground and listen. In the silence, I heard the ticking of the watch and just looked for it in that direction
Moral:
A peaceful mind can think better than a worked up mind. Allow a few minutes of silence to your mind every day, and see, how sharply it helps

Does Your Heart Still Ache (A Nice Story)

Does Your Heart Still Ache

(A Nice Story)

A woman whose only son had died went to a holy man and asked, “What powers do you have that will lift the ache from my heart?”

He said, “There is a wonderful thing you can do. But first you must bring me a mustard seed from a family that has no problems.

The woman went immediately to a beautiful mansion, thinking, “Nothing can possibly be wrong here!” She knocked the door and said, “I have to find a mustard seed from a home where there are no problems. It’s very important to me. May I have one of your mustard seeds?”

The people said to her, “Oh, you have come to the wrong house.” They began listing all their problems. The woman thought“I certainly know something about few problems. May be I can help them.” She listened, consoled and comforted.

At every home in the town the same thing happened. Finally, she returned to the holy man and said, “I did not find the seed you wanted. Instead, I gave away all the seeds of love I could give.”

“And does your heart still ache?” asked the holy man. “No,” she said but then she added with a smile, “but I’m thinking of growing some mustard seed and letting it go to seed.”

Why We Shout In Anger (A Nice Story)

Why We Shout In Anger
                                                                         (Nice Story)

A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'
Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.

             Finally the saint explained, .

"'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance."

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said.

"So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return."

"It does not matter how many times you fall. What matters is how many times you will stand up, shake it off, and keep moving forward"

You cannot paint the world green

YOU CANNOT PAINT THE WORLD GREEN

(A NICE SOTRY)

A millionaire who was bothered by severe eye pain consulted so many physicians and was getting his treatment done. He consumed heavy loads of drugs and underwent hundreds of injections. But the ache persisted with great vigor. At last a monk who was supposed to be an expert in treating such patients was called by the millionaire.

The monk understood his problem and said that for some time he should concentrate only on green colors and not to fall his eyes on any other colors. The millionaire got a group of painters and purchased barrels of green color and directed that every object his eye was likely to fall to be painted in green color.

After one month, When the monk came to visit him, the millionaire's servants ran with buckets of green paints and poured on him since he was in red dress, lest their master not sees any other color and his eye ache would comeback.

The monk laughed and said "if only you had purchased a pair of green spectacles, worth just a few rupees, you could have saved these walls, trees, pots and all other articles and also could have saved a large share of his fortune. You cannot paint the world green".

The One you Feed (Story told by a Old man)

The one you Feed

(Story today by a old man)

One evening, an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, greed, and arrogance. The other is Good - It is peace, love, hope, humility, compassion, and faith."

The grandson thought about this for a while and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"

To which the old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed"
